Visual Metaphors for Social Change — Bilingual Awareness Design

Dreama Foundation
The Brief

Dreama campaigns use striking visual metaphors to communicate complex social issues — from the impact of verbal bullying to the power of positive speech. Each campaign was designed as a standalone visual statement that could function bilingually across social media, print, and outdoor advertising. The imagery had to transcend language barriers, communicating the message through visual impact before a single word was read.

The Approach

Each campaign started with a single visual concept — a metaphor strong enough to carry the message without explanation. "Words Kill" uses typographic distortion to visualize verbal violence. "Speak Positively" inverts that energy into growth imagery. The bilingual challenge was designing visuals that read equally well when the text switches from Arabic to English — composition, eye flow, and emotional weight all had to work in both directions. Social media, print, and outdoor formats were designed simultaneously, not adapted from a single master.
