Anta Molhem

Complete Bilingual Brand Guidelines — 8 Sections, 2 Languages, 1 System

Government Communications Office
The Brief

Anta Molhem required a comprehensive brand guidelines document that could unify Arabic calligraphic heritage with modern grid systems. The challenge: produce an 8-section bilingual manual that would serve as the single source of truth for every department — ensuring consistent application across digital and print while honoring the aesthetic depth of Arabic letterforms. Every spread had to read equally well in Arabic (RTL) and English (LTR) without one language feeling like a translation of the other.

The Approach

Started with an audit of existing government communication materials — identified inconsistencies in type usage, color application, and layout structure across 15+ departments. Developed a modular grid system that accommodates both right-to-left Arabic and left-to-right English content without compromising readability or visual hierarchy. Each of the eight sections was prototyped individually, tested with actual department heads for clarity, then assembled into the final document. The typography system pairs a contemporary Arabic display face with a geometric English sans-serif, with baseline alignment rules that maintain visual harmony across both scripts on the same spread.
